Reason has triumphed, say bank investors
THE collapse of merger talks between Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank was greeted with relief in Germany yesterday, where the idea had few supporters outside the government.
The news was welcomed by investors and trade union leaders alike. "Reason has triumphed," said Ingo Speich of Deka Investment, while the head of the DVB banking union said it was "a good day for Deutsche Bank and a good day for Commerzbank".
