National Grid leads battery charge
NATIONAL Grid will connect more than four times the number of new energy storage sites to the system this year as Britain's battery boom gains traction.
The energy grid operator told investors yesterday that falling battery costs and the drive towards electric vehicle charging has spurred the number of applications to connect new sites to the main transmission system.
The 74 applications received so far this year is up almost fourfold compared to 2017 as a whole.
