THE FTSE 100 doubled its 2019 gains after its rally was turbocharged by the pound's woes and a surge in iron ore prices to a near two-year high. Sterling's 2019 rally was derailed by MPs voting against Yvette Cooper's amendment taking no-deal off the table. It suffered its biggest drop this year as EU leaders quickly dampened hopes of Theresa May securing concessions from Brussels.
