Embarrassments and accusations hurt officials, but not state's economy
When blackface scandals and sexual assault allegations engulfed Virginia's top three elected officials last month, many worried the state might lose business or economic development opportunities and that the incidents would hurt efforts to recruit workers and students.
So far, that does not appear to be the case.
