KPMG urges refund plan for black economy fines

Moves to crack down on Australia's $50 billion black economy should include fine refunds for taxpayers found to have improved their behaviour after being caught doing the wrong thing.

That's the assessment of big four firm KPMG, which has called on the Morrison government to consider potential psychological benefits for taxpayers and the community with a system that would include substantial refunds of fine amounts after three years of improved compliance.
