July retail sales left languishing

Retail sales crept up a marginal 0.3pc in July, compared to an increase of 1.6pc in the same month last year. This was the lowest figure recorded for the month of July since the British Retail Consortium records began in 1995 and comes after the worst June on www.record.UK retail sales rose 0.1pc on a like-for-like basis.
