Jack Del Rio has watched the Redskins' defense. He thinks 'it can get better.'; Washington's new defensive coordinator is not impressed by what he's seen from last year's group
Two weeks into his new job as the Washington Redskins' defensive coordinator, Jack Del Rio has watched enough of the team's 2019 games to form an opinion of the defense he has inherited.
"In general, it can be better," he said Wednesday on a conference call with the media.
"Obviously, (the defense was) 32nd in third down defense, 32nd in yards allowed, just 32nd in things - toward the bottom of the league in several categories - there's a lot of room for improvement."
