Ivanka Trump trademarks approved in China

China granted initial approval for 16 new trademarks to Ivanka Trump, President Trump's daughter and senior adviser.

The move comes just six months after President Trump promised to help prevent the bankruptcy of a major Chinese electronic maker that had violated American sanctions.

Ivanka Trump was granted several trademarks at the time.

The coincidence drew the ire of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a watchdog organization.
