Healey won’t accept pay hike : Rosenberg defends veto override
Attorney General Maura Healey has rejected the $45,000 pay raise tucked into the controversial pay package that lawmakers rammed into law yesterday with a veto override, giving hefty pay hikes to judges, court clerks and the legislature.
Healey’s decision was in line with Gov. Charlie Baker, Lt. Gov. Karen Polito and Treasurer Deb Goldberg, who also said they wouldn’t accept the raises, which lawmakers passed by overriding a Baker veto with a 116-43 House vote and a 31-9 Senate vote.
