German financial regulator BaFin is considering banning the marketing, distribution and sale of binary options to retail clients across the country.
Binary options are complex and lack transparency, particularly in the calculation of their performance and underlying, the regulator said, noting that such financial products are not traded in markets where prices are based on supply and demand.
