FTSE 100 opens flat after Federal Reserve holds rates
The FTSE 100 opened after the US Federal Reserve pledged to do all it can to support an economic recovery but warned coronavirus could derail a rebound and earnings season rolled on.
The UK’s blue-chip index rose marginally to 6,132 points. The FTSE 250 of slightly smaller firms was also flat.
In Asia overnight, China’s CSI 300 fell 0.5 per cent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 0.1 per cent and Japan’s Nikkei 225 dropped 0.3 per cent.
