Hundreds of venture investors and angels are gathering in Mountain View for Y Combinator's Demo Days, a pitchfest pioneered by Paul Graham and his YC co-founders 11 years ago.
Jared Friedman was part of the third batch, when it was held in Boston, as co-founder of digital library and e-book company Scribd. He says this week's events bear little resemblance to the one he was in.
