Former Washington County ambulance district boss and wife admit stealing thousands
ST. LOUIS - The former administrator of the Washington County Ambulance District on Monday admitted stealing more than $95,000 from the district.
William "Mal" Gum, 59, pleaded guilty to four felony counts of federal program theft and admitted improperly padding his district salary, having the district pay health care premiums for his dependents and using two district credit cards for personal purchases. Gum admitted the district lost more than $95,000.
