Flu shots aim to help in school District hopes vaccination campaign will cut down on absences
A quick needle stick, a bandage bearing a drawn-on smiley face, and instantly a kindergartner became a superhero because he got a flu shot.
“You were so brave; I’m so proud of you,” nurse Jessica Kendall told Wilbur Wright School kindergarten student Izaiah Podmore. “You’re a superhero!”
Izaiah returned Kendall’s high five, then ran to show off his bandage to classmates who sported their own Band-Aids.
