Dallas firm turns to Hollywood
Two Dallasites have named themselves co-presidents of Hollywood’s newest company — Lantern Entertainment — and are starting to run what was for decades the Weinstein Company.
Andy Mitchell and Milos Brajovic, founders of Dallas-based private equity firm Lantern Capital Partners, said Tuesday in a press release that they’ve hired three experienced entertainment industry executives to be their consultants in what the pair is calling “this formative stage of the new company.”
Lantern Capital purchased the Weinstein Co. out of bankruptcy in May for $289 million plus the assumption of $115 million in debt for assets that include a 227-film library and shows and movies in production including Project Runway .
