Cutting BBC rules will dumb down broadcasting even more, warns ITV
ITV has warned that Ofcom's "dumbing down" of rules on BBC broadcasting standards will mean more, not fewer, repeats of property and antiques shows.
The commercial broadcaster told Ofcom that new BBC regulations would not meet government demands for distinctive schedules. ITV said: "The proposed obligations could allow scope for the BBC to reduce, not increase, its provision across the full range of public service and under-provided genres."
