Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP (BIP) has agreed to acquire private equity-backed Niska Gas Storage Partners LLC (NKA) for $911.9 million including the assumption of debt, relieving concerns that the target could be at risk of bankruptcy.

The companies said late Sunday, June 14 that Brookfield Infrastructure would pay $4.225 per equity unit, a 222% premium to the trading price of Niska's common stock.
