Britain among slowest to control first wave

IT TOOK the UK 20 days longer than the European Union average to bring the first coronavirus wave under control, analysis by an international report suggests.

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) revealed the figure in its Health at a Glance Europe 2020 report, which compared data from European coun tries looking at how they experienced and responded to the pandemic.
