With Mandy Patinkin as a coming-apart dad and Judith Light as a long-lost mom, ‘Before You Know It’ is a cozily familiar mess.

For all the domestic dysfunction it chronicles, there’s something reassuringly cozy about “Before You Know It.” Especially if you’re a longtime New Yorker.
