PATCHOGUE  The Patchogue Department of Public Works is auctioning off dozens of steel planters originally used to beautify Main Street. Village officials adopted the resolution Monday night to remove the 50 planters because they are old. Officials said removing them will also make downtown sidewalks less crowded, particularly with the recent addition of benches and parking meters. Proceeds will go toward other village needs.
