The funding will be through subordinated debt, or junior debt.
The firm could receive up to USD50m in debt financing. It is expected to help the firm to provide services to low-income borrowers and strengthen its balance sheet through availability of long-tenure debt.
IFC, a unit of the World Bank, is expected to offer funding to India-based Ujjivan Small Finance Bank.
