Ditto Trade was founded by the same team that started Web Street Securities in 1996, one of the first online brokerages. Web Street introduced many innovations that have become the standards in the industry. It was also one of the highest rated brokerages for compliance, execution and customer service. Web Street was a publicly traded company that ultimately merged with E*Trade.
The inspiration for Ditto Trade came out of the market turmoil of 2008. Little had changed in the 12 years since the Internet opened up access to the markets. With the increase in volatility, investors were finding themselves more challenged.
The idea for Ditto Trade was to offer people access to trading expertise they’ve never had before. So we created a first-of-its-kind Social Brokerage firm to benefit the millions of investors on the sidelines.
Our proprietary technology automates existing relationships by allowing people to participate in the actual trades of someone they trust; while maintaining complete control and transparency.
Now investors, who don’t have the time, experience or confidence to trade on their own, can sign on with and get the identical results of a professional or more experienced trader.
Web Street’s goal was to provide the individual investor with the most innovative tools and best service to help navigate the market. Coming from the same DNA, Ditto Trade embraces that philosophy as well.
