Leadership Cincinnati is focused on community leadership - helping mature professionals develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to assume greater responsibility for leading the Cincinnati region into the future. Employing the best adult learning practices, the program stresses experience over dry information. Participants not only "learn about," they "learn by doing." That includes everything from a ride-along with a Cincinnati Police officer, to an exploration of the impact of economic development in Over-the-Rhine on walks led by a theatre director and a bicycle cop, as well as a developer. It means having dinner with working class Hispanic immigrants and homeless people, sitting in the living room of a family who lives in public housing and participating in a ballet practice. It also means working intensely with a team of class members on a project to help the community.
