Yellen says rate move likely if economic situation evolves as expected

Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen said the central bank sees employment numbers and inflation in a spot where the Fed can begin unwinding its accommodative monetary policy, perhaps with a rate hike soon.

"I currently see no evidence that the Federal Reserve has fallen behind the curve, and I therefore continue to have confidence in our judgment that a gradual removal of accommodation is likely to be appropriate," Yellen said at the Executives' Club of Chicago on March 3.
