Warren urges state to fight Trump health agenda

U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren yesterday urged Boston business leaders to rally against President Trump’s agenda, warning the administration’s budget would decimate the state’s hospitals and universities.

The president’s budget blueprint “takes a meat ax to the budget of the National Institutes of Health,” Warren said, cutting the NIH budget by more than 20 percent.

In fiscal year 2016, Massachusetts received more than $2.5 billion in NIH funding. The state has 190 NIH-funded
