Qorvo, Intel and startups plan forum on wireless technology

The chip industry is looking ahead to a new generation of high-speed wireless communication, one it hopes will enable more than faster smartphones.

Intel and other tech companies hope the forthcoming 5G wireless standard - in a testing phase now and probably a few years away from widespread deployment - will connect self-driving cars, the Internet of Things, wearable technology and other new gadgets.
