Police issue warning over suspected child grooming over social media

Police from Central Hunter Local Area Command have issued a warning to young people and their parents following a suspected child grooming incident via Facebook last week.

About 10.30pm on Friday 27 January 2017, a 13-year-old girl attended Maitland Police Station with her mother to report an incident that occurred via Facebook.

Police were told the young girl received, and accepted, a friend request from a man calling himself Jack. He requested the girl send him pictures of herself,
