Flowers of Vietnam has come a long way since chef George Azar began hosting weekly Vietnamese pop-ups inside a defunct southwest Detroit coney island a little more than a year ago.
The weekly supper club staffed by people with no previous restaurant experience (with the exception of Azar) expanded gradually to include three days of service and a liquor license and earned the No. 3 slot on the Free Press' Best New Restaurants list.
But the restaurant's growth will go from incremental
