Five Indian nationals indicted with creating fake GST refund dues

Five foreigners were charged on Thursday (Feb 2) for conspiring to fraudulently claim GST refunds amounting to approximately S$167,253 for jewellery they did not personally purchase.

Indian nationals Karunanithi Saravanan, 36, Karunanidhi Rajesh. 32, Waithiyalingam Karunanidhi, 61, Kothandaraman Gnanam, 29, and Ramaiyan Karthikeyan, 43 were arrested on Wednesday following an investigation that stretched nine months.
