Edgewise: 1MDB case: Will Malaysia, Abu Dhabi settlement deter Singapore?

Malaysia and Abu Dhabi agreed this past week to settle a dispute involving billions of dollars' worth of bonds issued by 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB). But it is unlikely to erase the scandal that has sparked investigations in Singapore, Switzerland and the US.

On April 23, Abu Dhabi's International Petroleum Investment Co (IPIC) said in a London Stock Exchange filing that it would be paid more than US$602.7 million ($842.4 million) by July 31, and a further US$602.7 million by year-end
