Duke Energy officials said Friday that the company plans to buy up easements comprised of about 55 acres of land to make way for a 7.8-mile transmission line that will cut through the Greensboro-Randolph megasite.
The transmission line is a critical piece of the megasite project because it is designed to provide large quantities of power for a large-scale industrial user that could employ 1,750.
