Cord-cutting is on the rise, and TV companies are taking note

The writing is on the wall: Cord-cutting is growing - even faster than anticipated.

Research firm eMarketer has revised its estimates on the number of cord-cutters in the United States upward. Now the company believes the country will see 22.2 million cord-cutters age 18 and older this year - up 33.2 percent over 2016.

That's 44 percent more than the 15.4 million cord-cutters eMarketer previously predicted for this year.
