Cisco Systems to buy Viptela
Cisco Systems said Monday it has agreed to a $610 million deal to buy Viptela, a San Jose maker of software that helps businesses connect remote branch offices, data centers and other sites.
Cisco made the deal to beef up its own networking technologies with Viptela's "cloud-first approach," Rob Salvagno, vice president of corporate business development, wrote in a company blog.
