The Bulls and Blackhawks jointly cut the ribbon today on an atrium and office building addition to the United Center that will house the arena's box office, a retail store featuring merchandise from both teams, office space and - over time - a lot more dining and drinking outposts.
The new 190,000-square-foot, privately-funded structure also will be the new home for the famous Michael Jordan statue that previously stood outside the east entrance to the United Center.
