Former Baylor football coach Art Briles, beloved by football fans for digging the program out of mediocrity but lambasted by critics who accuse him of turning a blind eye to sexual assaults by players, dropped his libel lawsuit against school officials Wednesday.
Briles' lawyer gave notice to opposing counsel Wednesday morning, and the suit was dropped during a brief court hearing in Llano County, said attorney Rusty Hardin, who represents three Baylor regents named in the suit.
