Testimony began Thursday in the assault trial of a North Texas neurosurgeon accused of botching several spinal surgeries and who once wrote of his desire to become a "cold-blooded killer."
Christopher Duntsch, 44, of Centennial, Colo., was arrested in July 2015 on five counts of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and one count of injury to a child, elderly or disabled person. He's been in the Dallas County Jail since then in lieu of more than $600,000 bail.
