NEWTON, Mass. (AP) - Boston College is renaming its College of Arts and Sciences after its largest benefactor, a 1960 graduate of the Jesuit university.

The university announced Thursday that the school will be called the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences in honor of Robert J. Morrissey.

The school says with his latest gift, the attorney becomes the largest benefactor in school history. The size of the gift was not disclosed.

Morrissey served as a trustee from 1980 to 2014
