Army veteran accused of illegal capture of green sea turtle, received one year of probation.

A Federal Court sentenced an Army veteran on charges of illegal capture of an endangered green sea turtle. He is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and a heart condition.

Julian San Nicolas Aguon, 59, was spared from spending time in prison by the District Court of Guam. He received one year of probation and 50 hours of community service with the National Wildlife Service.

He committed the offense on on Jan. 9, 2016, at the coast of Guam
