A piece of Cleveland history reopens After Dark

The dusty old pool table is gone. Ditto for that out-of-tune piano and classic vinyl jukebox. But the vintage vibes, old-style Cleveland feel and spirit of the sweet lady who made it famous live on.

Jerman’s Cafe, a legendary institution for more than a century, is back. The near East Side bar — 3840 St. Clair Ave.; 216-361-8771 — has reopened after being closed for two years.

“I never ran a bar before, but we all wanted to keep it in the family,” says co-owner Michelle Zam
