Lazaro de Mello Brandao, chair of Brazil-based Banco Bradesco SA (BBDC4:BZ) is to step down from office.

Brandao is believed to be the world's oldest serving bank chair and he had been in the position for about 25 years. He is to be replaced by Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi, the current chief executive officer. Cappi will be in both positions until March, when the bank will elect a new CEO.
